Amy and Chelsey, June 11th

Amy and Chelsey got married at the Lake Union Cafe, where the food was fabulous and the atmosphere elegant, with an art deco flair-- it was a very fun place to take pictures. Their cake, which was also delicious, was made by Cupcakes, a cake shop in Vancouver with a slightly misleading name. They were both so beautiful and so in love, their wedding was a pleasure to photograph. Here are some of my favorite pictures from their wedding. We started out at Gasworks Park:

They had a lovely and touching ceremony:

It was our first wedding with all girls in dresses in the bridal party, so I had to play around some:

Here they are "stuck" in the revolving door-- but they don't seem too upset about it.

The end:

Congratulations Chelsey and Amy!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day, everyone. To celebrate, here are some pictures of two of the best dads, with their daughter (who is one of my favorite photographic subjects):

And one of my Dad, being goofy at Folklife:

And lastly, one of Bob, with our son, my two favoritist people in the world. I love you guys!

Betty and Josh, May 27th

We were so excited to photograph Betty and Josh's wedding. They got married at the Museum of Flight, which was a really cool location. The bride wore Cicada (they make such beautiful dresses):

We made a special online slideshow for Betty and Josh. I always try to do a "sneak peek" of the wedding, before the proofs go up, if I have the time:

Slideshow

Here is what Betty wrote us after seeing the slideshow:

"Our friends loved the slideshow so much... they had comments like "I could just TASTE the happiness." At least three admitted to getting teary and/or crying, and several admitted to watching the slideshow multiple times. All agreed that they were the best wedding photos they had ever seen, which is pretty awesome! Truly, you both did an excellent job. . .

Friends have said things along the lines of "best wedding pictures ever," and I would have to agree. You both have great talent, great presentation and salesmanship, and you're both so nice that I think your business can only grow from here.

I remember when you both asked us what we wanted to feel when we saw our pictures, and we said something about being happy or having fun, and you both truly captured that mood in every picture you took. I'm looking forward to looking back at them 20 years from now and feeling all those feelings again. Of course, for now, I'll just look at the pics and the slideshow repeatedly. :) "

I just love getting reviews like that! Thanks for a great wedding, Betty and Josh, and here's to your happily ever after.

Jeannine and Mike

We got to do an engagement session with Jeannine and Mike at Matthews Beach Park. They are getting married July 15th at the Bear Creek Country Club.

And one in infrared:

After the engagement session, we went out to dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant (Mr Villa), which we had recommended to Jeannine and Mike earlier, and they had apparently decided to try our recommendation. So, we ended up having a very nice dinner, and talking more about wedding details, and I said to Bob, we should go out to dinner with all of our couples :). We can't wait for your wedding, Jeannine and Mike-- we think it's going to be a great time.

Amy and Chelsey

We had a very nice (if cloudy!) engagement session with Amy and Chelsey out at Golden Gardens Beach. Amy and Chelsey were a lot of fun and we can't wait to photograph their wedding on June 11th. Here are a few favorite pictures from their session:
