Farewell London
We have arrived in Paris after a having a wonderful time in London. "Time flies when you're having fun." I meant to post pictures at least weekly, but alas, did not. Here are some of the highlights from our time in London.
The ever-popular
Trafalgar Square:
"Eye on London:"
Enjoying the
"Fun Fair" in
Hyde Park. We were there on one of the last nights they were open, and boy, was it rainy:

On the
Big Bus Tour, which travels all over the city and has an open top:

I was happily snapping away at
Liverpool Station, when I was told to cease and desist by a security officer. "Because of terrorists," he said. They have definitely tightened security all over London since the last time we were there:

Having fun at the
Tate Modern (the
"slide museum" as my son calls it), and
Discover Children's Center:

This
horse guard did not like having its picture taken. Here it is sticking its tongue out:

"Lost in London." Trying to find our way at night:

Pretending to make a phone call. So cute!

We got to go visit my grandfather and his wife in Exeter for his 82nd birthday. Happy birthday, Grandpa!

Such a great atmosphere one morning at a church in
Exeter:

Enjoy!

Sometimes people will ask, "so, what do you like to take pictures of when you're not photographing weddings?" Apparently, I still like to photograph brides. So, I decided to dress up my sister in a wedding gown and take some pictures. She was a good sport and enjoyed being my model. We started out with a more traditional bridal session, in which we went down to the Seattle Needle at dusk, and took some pictures at the
EMP and thereabouts. You can see some of the pictures from that session below. Then, we did a less traditional shoot in our "backyard," aka
Matthews Beach Park. You can see some work from that session over at
TrashTheDress.com.
This sort of session is a really fun idea for before the wedding (more traditional pictures) or after the wedding (more risky, fashion-y type pictures). In fact, even though we dragged the dress (which I ordered off of
ebay) through the mud in the lake, I took it to the drycleaners and it came out looking brand new. The other great thing about these sessions is that it is a real collaboration between the photographer and the model(s). We can explore any themes that you are interested in and create a session that immortalizes you (the bride) or you (the couple) at this amazing time in your life.

We plan to do another session like this while we are both in Europe. If you have any ideas for cool places (I'm thinking maybe Stonehenge), drop me a line. Thanks!

Candace and Mike, November 3rd
Candace and Mike were such a sweet and romantic couple with a fantastic group of family and friends. We had a great time photographing their wedding. They got married on November 3rd at the
Fauntleroy Church, and then had their reception across the street at the
Hall at Fauntleroy. But first, we got to photograph the girls where they got ready at the hip
W Hotel in downtown Seattle.

Here are Mike and Candace having their first meeting:

The ceremony, during which Candace and Mike really seemed to be having fun with each other:

Mike enjoying his new ring:

Everyone enjoyed the reception, with touching toasts and rockin' dancing:

Congratulations, Mike and Candace!

Image Featurette-- check it out
Local photographer Cory Parris asked me to write an image featurette for his new blog for aspiring and professional photographers. An image featurette is a picture and a description of how you arrived at that picture, both the photography part and the post-processing part. I really enjoyed describing my process and might do some more image featurettes in the future on this blog. Anyway, check it out here:

Bellies!
I got to do a couple of maternity sessions recently. It is such an amazing adventure to be growing a baby, and I was honored to play a part in documenting the experience for two great couples. Here are Helen and Jason, who recently had their beautiful baby girl:

And Brooke and Michael, whose wedding we photographed a couple of years ago, who had a boy:

Congratulations to both growing families!

Happy Anniversary, Jessica and Max!
Jessica and Max had a very sweet ceremony and reception at their church on January 7th, 2006. A cute couple who were very much in love, they were a pleasure to photograph.

Congratulations on your one-year anniversary, Max and Jess!

David and Ken and Family
We got to do a fall family session with our good friends David and Ken and their daughter, one of our favorite models-- she is the cutest. We played and hung out, and took some great natural pictures. Fun was had by all:

Until next time,
Priscilla
Lynne and Everett and Family
We have finally arrived in (not so sunny) London. I will post some pictures from our trip when I get the chance. But, for now, here are some from a family session that we did this summer, right out at our very own
Matthews Beach Park.

We hope to do more family sessions with you and your new baby too, Lynne and Everett!
